Biography
Alex Stuart is team leader of the UK federation technical team. The team manages the federation's technical infrastructure and provides advice on all aspects of participation within the UK federation, including deployment support and troubleshooting.
He has previously been a software engineer in CFD/geoscience companies, a development officer for a national education charity helpline, and a numeracies worker supporting homeless and vulnerably housed people
Abstract
UK Federation update
In this update on the recent activities of the UK federation technical team, I'll outline the trends of the support calls we receive. I'll also describe the recently deployed UK federation test identity provider, which we have put in place to respond to requests from service provider owners.
In 2013, the UK federation joined the eduGAIN service, to broaden its reach outside the UK and into 23 other countries (and counting). I'll describe the technical work that has been put in place to enable UK federation participation in eduGAIN, and give some indicators about the service
